Job summary We are looking for a calm, confident and compassionate Reception Security Assistant at Mill View Hospital. This is a key front-line role, helping us maintain a safe, welcoming and well-managed environment for patients, visitors and staff.
We are looking for someone who is confident working in a mental health environment and able to communicate clearly and calmly, even in high-pressure situations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate empathy and professionalism when managing challenging circumstances, work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, and show reliability, strong observational skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive service.
Main duties of the job
Provide a warm, professional welcome to all visitors Monitor and control access to the hospital to ensure safety Support incident response and liaise with clinical teams Manage visitor sign-in processes and ID checks Key and Alarm management Perform daily and weekly routine security checks Manage incoming calls, post and parcels Perform administrative tasks relevant to the role Maintain a visible presence to reassure patients and staff Follow security procedures and escalate concerns appropriately
