Job summary
We are seeking a Screening Administrator to join the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Bowel Cancer Screening Programme. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of highly motivated, professional staff who take pride in providing excellent services for our patients.
The post holder will work under the supervision of the programme manager and will provide the highest standard of care for patients participating in the national Bowel Cancer Screening programme.
The Post holder will be responsible for all aspects of clerical duties within screening and will be required to complete an online course to enable them to use the BCSS system within Open Exeter. The post holder will also be required to record patients on tracking systems and adhere to standard operational policies within the department.
Main duties of the job
Deal with telephone queries, filtering and redirecting calls as necessary and taking messages in an efficient and courteous manner.
Book colonoscopy appointments for FIT positive patients to meet cancer faster diagnosis waiting times.
Prepare agenda's, take minutes, transcribe, and circulate minutes to appropriate staff.
Work closely with the hub and nurses to ensure appropriate booking of appointments to meet faster diagnosis waiting times.
Input data into the BCSS and other local data bases as required.
When required assist with short notice rescheduling of clinics and colon lists.
Assist with booking surveillance patients in line with surveillance protocols.
Assist with booking Rescope patients in line with Rescope protocols.
Build working relationships with key staff both internally within the screening centre and externally across all multidisciplinary teams.
Produce performance data regarding achievements of national targets.
Produce reports for discussion at the weekly team and quarterly clinical bowel screening meetings.
Through attendance at team meetings maintain active knowledge of the work, roles and objectives of the team in order to deliver, understand and respond to queries.
Maintain patient confidentiality in all aspects of data handling either written or verbally.

Qualifications Essential
Educated to GCSE standard (or equivalent); to include Maths and English at grade C/4 or above / Or Equivalent Experience. NVQ 3 or similar in administration and business or other relevant subject to Level 3 or must be able to demonstrate the equivalent level of knowledge, training and experience.
Desirable
ECDL qualification or equivalent
