Locum Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon (9 Months)
Bristol Royal Hospital for Children are recruiting an outstanding a 9-month Locum Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon to join one of the UK's most progressive children's hospitals. Main duties of the job
You will manage a diverse and stimulating caseload from scoliosis, complex deformity to neuromuscular conditions supported by advanced surgical technologies and a passionate multidisciplinary team.
You will play a key role in delivering outstanding, family centred care, contributing to service development, and supporting the training of junior doctors and the wider MDT. The successful candidate will join a collaborative department committed to excellence in paediatric orthopaedic spine

Qualifications & Training Essential
Full and specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) or Holder of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) FRCS (Tr & Orth) or equivalent
Desirable
Higher academic qualification e.g. MD, PhD or equivalent
Experience Essential
Evidence of thorough and broad Paediatric Spine Surgical training and experience Able to take responsibility for delivering service without direct supervision
Desirable
International fellowship experience 7D Navigation Experience delivering efficient paediatric spinal deformity services
Clinical Knowledge and Skills Essential
Up to date knowledge and experience of relevant specialty Knowledge of NHS priorities with reference to specialty

Clinical Governance and Audit Essential
Understanding of clinical governance and the individual responsibilities it implies Knowledge of the principles of clinical audit and evidence of participation Positive approach to evidence based practice Participation in continuing professional development (CPD) scheme and, where relevant, evidence of participation
