ABOUT THE ROLE As Wellbeing and Activities Assistant, your focus will be to support the Wellbeing Coordinator in providing a wide range of activities to engage and stimulate the resident's physical, cognitive, and social well-being. Other responsibilities will include: Maintaining a safe living and working environment, contributing to the positive and professional image of the home. Reporting any changes in residents physical or emotional condition to the Wellbeing and Activity Coordinator, Home Manager, and the care staff. Supporting with ordering and preparing supplies for upcoming activities as directed. Supporting establishing links with the community

Main duties of the job As a Wellbeing and Activities Assistant at Avery Healthcare, your main role is to support the Wellbeing Coordinator in delivering a broad variety of activities tailored to enrich the physical, cognitive, and social well-being of residents. Your duties will include maintaining a safe and welcoming living environment, reporting any physical or emotional changes in residents to the relevant staff, and assisting with the preparation and procurement of necessary supplies for activities. Additionally, you will work on establishing connections with the local community to foster intergenerational activities and promote inclusivity among residents. Clear and effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing, are essential. Successful candidates must demonstrate an understanding of how interaction enhances well-being and a positive approach toward the elderly. A prior experience working with older people in a residential nursing dementia setup is required. Supporting establishing links with the local community (e.g., schools, spiritual groups, museums/libraries) to encourage access to the wider community and promote intergenerational activity.

Have previously worked with older people in a residential nursing Dementia setting.

Qualifications Essential

Effective communication skills, verbal and written. Understanding of the role interaction plays in the general well-being of people. Positive attitude toward older people and a commitment to providing quality activities and social events. Prior experience working with older people in a residential nursing Dementia setting.
