Job summary

Wehave an exciting opportunity at Morriston Pharmacy Department to join our stores team.

Are you computer literate, do you have a good understanding of Health and Safety and Manual Handling, can you plan and organise your work load.

We are looking for someone who can work in a team and support the running of the Pharmacy stores area.

Main duties of the job

As Storekeeperyour main duties will include (but not be limited to):

Receiving, unpacking and validating deliveries based on official orders, and booking stock onto the pharmacy computer system. Ensuring appropriate stock rotation. Recording and documenting the receipt of unlicensed/specials in accordance with department policy. Monitor stock holdings. Communicate any problems with goods received to purchasing Technician. Ensure running of the robotic system for loading stock. Distributing and, where required, delivering of products to wards and departments. Monitor medical gases stock levels.

Job description Job responsibilities

Previous Pharmacy experience is desirable but not essential. No formal qualifications are needed but you will be required to work towards and obtain the Certificate in Pharmacy Services Skills (NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services), using the in-house training provided, and be committed to continuous professional development.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification

Qualifications & Knowledge Essential

On the job training working towards NVQ Level 2 or equivalent training. Knowledge of procedures for own pharmacy areas through on job training.

Desirable

5 x GCSEs (C or above) including English & Maths. Previous experience of Stock Control and Stores Management.

Experience Essential

IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.

Desirable

Computer literate. Understanding of health and safety regulations.

Aptitude & Abilities Essential

Good planning and organisation skills. Ability to work under pressure.

Desirable

Willingness to learn new skills.

Other Essential

A commitment to support the Health Boards' values. Willingness to train new members of staff. Confidentiality. Safely lift and handle heavy objects.
