Job summary Senior Biomedical Scientist (Chemistry)

Brighton Hospital | Pathology | Permanent Contract | Full Time

Up to £45,500.00 per annum depending on experience

37.5 hours per week.

Main duties of the job Deliver quality pathology services and taking a share of covering on-call service out of hours.

Perform biomedical diagnostic testing, interpretation and reporting, through to quality control.

Support the organisation in validating and assessing new equipment and developing new diagnostic procedures. This is part of our ongoing quest to deliver the very best experience possible for patients.

As a Senior Biomedical Scientist at our Brighton Hospital, you'll bring the relevant qualifications and laboratory experience in multidisciplinary biomedical science. You have a good working knowledge of different analytical equipment in a range of techniques. You're also a natural communicator and team player, and you share our idea of quality.

As a Senior Biomedical Scientist, you will:

Lead the Quality Management of the department

As a Senior Biomedical Scientist you will need:

To be HCPC registered.

MSc Biomedical Science (or equivalent qualification/experience).

Relevant laboratory experience in multi-disciplinary biomedical science and significant Haematology/Blood Transfusion experience.

Good working knowledge of different analytical equipment in a range of multi-disciplinary techniques.

The ability to understand how vital it is to maintain good customer relationships and provide high levels of service in a modern pathology laboratory.

Highly motivated and enthusiastic individual able to multi-task and meet deadlines.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

To be HCPC registered.

MSc Biomedical Science (or equivalent qualification/experience).

Experience Essential

Relevant laboratory experience in multi-disciplinary biomedical science and significant Haematology/Blood Transfusion experience.
