Job summary
The post holder will serve as a key member of the Resuscitation Service, providing Resuscitation training and will be a knowledge expert on resuscitation and the management of deterioration.
The post holder will support the education, professional development and education and training needs of staff concerning resuscitation and management of deterioration of clinical staff across Hampshire and IOW NHSFT, and where appropriate, external organisations/Families.
They will work closely with the senior Divisional Resuscitation Officers/Educators providing:
BLS
ILS (Adult & Paediatric)
DILS
In Service Simulation
Debrief support
Family Training related to BLS
Specialised advice and support to the organisation related to the management of deterioration and resuscitation
Main duties of the job
Managed by a Senior Divisional Resuscitation Officer/ Educator, the postholder will have responsibility for:
*In conjunction with the Senior Resuscitation Officer/ Educator, designs, assesses, plans, implements and evaluates identified training programmes related to resuscitation to ensure a consistent approach is achieved and that continuous improvements take place in line with changes in research and national guidelines.
*Contribute to the content and design of the management of deterioration training delivered by the clinical training team (Physical Health)
*Contributes to the design and delivery of in-service simulation training
* Act as a specialised resource for services on resuscitation and management of deterioration.
* Assist in the development and implementation of relevant educational resources that are evidence-based on the development hub.
* Maintain own competence, confidence and expertise related to the area of speciality (Resuscitation and the Management of Deterioration) through Continuing professional development.
* Act as a positive role model when training and within the clinical environment.
*Maintain in date certification of the Resuscitation Council (UK) Advanced Life Support Course.
*Work within the Resuscitation Council UK most up to date Quality and Standards and Resuscitation Guidelines

Experience Essential
* Experience in working in acute/critical care environment, assessing and implementing interventions equivalent to a post-graduate level. * Sound specialist clinical knowledge of management of resuscitation and deterioration underpinned by evidence of theoretical understanding. * Understanding of education and learning process such as competencies, skills assessments, and evaluations. * Experience of delivering training to groups and teaching to a multidisciplinary workforce. * Evidence of effective communication skills * Evidence of effective interpersonal skills * Good organisational skills * Ability to communicate and cultivate relationships with all levels of staff and build relationships with key stakeholders * Advanced IT skills, ensuring processes and governance are followed * Sound understanding of risk assessment and delegation principles. * Experience of mentoring and/ or training other healthcare professionals * Ability to prioritise workload and efficiently manage own time. * Flexible and adaptable to changing and evolving service needs * A positive attitude to teaching and customer care * Must be able to meet the physical demands of this training role * Able to take direction, instruction and guidance * Access to own transport, willingness to travel across HIOW Trust
