Job summary
Are you a newly qualified or more experienced Dietitian looking to work within a friendly, supportive Community Dietetic team in a band 5 to 6 development position?
Would you enjoy working in a community setting but with strong links to dietetic teams across Somerset?
We have an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified Dietitian or for a dietitian with some post-registration experience to work alongside our Renal Specialist Dietitian and also our wider Community Dietetic Team.
Main duties of the job
What are we looking for?
Ideally, you'll have varied under-graduate experience, covering a range of specialties (and ideally some renal, outpatient clinics and general medical work). We also welcome applications from dietitians with post-graduate experience, looking for the opportunity to develop from a band 5 to a more specialist band 6 position. Good communication skills and MDT working experience are essential. Training and support will be available.
You need to be registered as a Dietitian with the Health and Care Professions Council and ideally have NHS experience.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
HCPC registered dietitian BSc in Nutrition and/or Dietetics or equivalent
Desirable
Some renal experience Some general outpatient experience Some acute or community hospital experience
Experience Essential
Varied student or Post registration experience Dietetic knowledge which encompasses a range of the most common dietetic treatments likely to be encountered within a community service.

Evidence of emerging communication skills Ability to work as part of a team Well organized Access to transport to travel efficiently in connection with the post to attend meetings, work from different bases or training events across the county
