This is an exciting opportunity to join the Women's and Children's research team at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust.
We are looking to appoint a caring, highly motivated, forward thinking and enthusiastic paediatric nurse to help lead and support research to children and families across our Trust.
As a research nurse you will be responsible for delivering studies to improve the way we care for our patients.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will join our friendly and hardworking team and will be responsible for supporting the day to day running of NIHR Portfolio studies and other projects. These include all aspects of patient identification, recruitment and follow up of participants in addition to any study specific procedures. You will be responsible for managing your portfolio in a patient focus manner and growing future opportunities for studies in you specialty. A key part of the role will be to liaise with all members of the multi-disciplinary team across the Trust therefore you must possess excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrate good attention to detail.

Research experience would be advantageous but not essential, all necessary training and support will be provided. The post will provide the unique opportunity of working mainly in paediatrics but potentially within women's health too.
In addition you will:
Be a registered nurse with a degree or equivalent professional qualification Have effective time management and the ability to work with minimum supervision. Be able to integrate with a number of teams in order to achieve set objectives Be conversant with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Research Governance. Be proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access etc) Be willing to work flexibly in terms of hours and duties to meet service needs. Be familiar with Trust CORE Values and be willing work alongside the values. Previous practical experience of clinical trials/research will be an asset but not essential
