Shift Pattern:

21 hours - 7.00am to 2.30pm 12 hour and 15 hours shifts - 4:00pm to 7:00pm

Main duties of the job

Be responsible for all catering and domestic duties at ward level, carrying them out in accordance with Statutory guidelines and without detriment to patient care, to ensure a safe, clean environment is always maintained.

Job description Job responsibilities

Be responsible for the provision of a high quality food and beverage service at ward level, using an electronic menu ordering system. To regenerate food, maintaining appropriate temperature records. To comply with the requirements of Food Hygiene and Health and Safety legislation and local guidelines. Be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of the patient ward kitchen, equipment and serving area. Be responsible for ordering adequate provisions for the ward kitchen and maintain appropriate records relating to stock control. Person Specification

Experience and Knowledge Essential

Dealing with people Customer Service and Customer Focused awareness To have an awareness of confidentiality Awareness of Food Hygiene Previous experience of working in a hospital / care environment

Qualification and Professional Training Essential

Good standard of general education

Desirable

GCSE English & Maths A-D grades Basic Food Hygiene level 1

Personal Qualities Essential

Flexible attitude and ability to work as part of a team and on their own Motivated and enthusiastic Adaptable Punctual and reliable

Understanding the importance/ relevance of good basic hygiene

Skills and Abilities Essential

Must be able to fulfil the physical requirements of the role to include Manual handling, kneeling, bending, crouching, lifting, repetitive movements Good written and verbal communication Ability to understand the importance of confidentiality
