About this role

Job summary

This post is 32 hours band 6. The post holder is expected to manage his/her workload, complete injection clinics (once fully trained) and ensure patients have required follow up appointments. The post holder will also have other duties such as co-ordination of clinics, scrubbing and assisting for Intravitreal Injection procedures. The successful candidate will act as a clinical expert and professional resource to the Multi-Professional team, patients and carers within their Speciality Service. We are looking for someone with experience of working in a high-volume healthcare environment, and experience of working in an Ophthalmic setting having obtained or ongoing qualifications in Foundation of Ophthalmic Nursing Practice and Advanced Ophthalmic Nursing Practice. This post holder will be a core member of the macular team within the hospital setting. The post holder will undergo full training to perform Intravitreal Injections. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is keen to take on a new challenge and develop this role. Working Hours 8am - 6pm any 4 days between Monday to Friday

Main duties of the job

Qualification in Ophthalmic Foundation Degree and Advanced Ophthalmic Nursing Degree.

Working in the Intravitreal Injection (IVI) Suite, expanding knowledge & skills in administering Intravitreal Injections and reviewing OCT Scans.

Performing Logmars & IOPs

Scrub and circulating Nurse in the Intravitreal Injection Suite.
