Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a team leader within the home therapies team at Liverpool University Hospital. The home therapies team work across 2 sites and cover a large geographical area in the community. The home therapies team leader will be required to travel between sites and may involve community support when required.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, hardworking and dynamic nurse who has experience working in a community dialysis at band 6 / 7 level to join our team.
The successful candidate will be expected to be a motivated leader, with excellent proven managerial and leadership skills, who has the drive and passion to create an inspirational learning and working environment, that continuously strives for the highest standards of quality care and has patient safety at the forefront of the services and care provided.
The team leader role will involve a combination of management and senior nurse clinical support therefore dialysis experience is essential.
You will be supported in your role by the home therapies nursing lead and a team of Consultants.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will have management responsibility for the home therapies team, ensuring a high standard of nursing care, alongside providing senior clinical support and expertise within the team.
Key responsibilities will include the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, effective leadership and staff management/development.
The post holder will have responsibility of supporting a team of clinical nurse specialists to deliver safe and effective training and education to patients and their support partners to be successful on the home dialysis programme, and will be the senior support for clinical decision making within the remit of a nurse led unit, ensuring patients are regularly followed up and supported.
The post holder will always work within the NMC's Code of Professional Conduct.

The Home Therapies Team Leader will act as the clinical expert and professional resource to the Multi-Professional team, patients and carers within the service
The post holder will work closely with the home therapies nursing lead and lead clinician to develop the specialist area of practice in order to support the current service growth and development to meet the 20% requirement of all patients on renal replacement therapy being on a home therapy
The post holder will be expected to provide first-line management and lead a team ofspecialist nurses
