Job summary
The Stewards reports into the Maintenance & Compliance Manager.
Stewards are responsible for providing general maintenance, gardening, driving and stores deliveries.
Main duties of the job
Other associated duties under the supervision of the Head of Estates to ensure the premises and grounds are kept in to a high standard.
In addition, this role will be the main point of contact for external contractors when carrying work out across the sites.

St Giles Hospice is a registered charity founded in 1983 by the Reverend Paul Brothwell, originally to improve the care of local people dying with cancer.
We now support patients, and their loved ones, living with a terminal illness. Our dedicated team provides individually-tailored care, free of charge, either at the hospice or in patients own homes across our communities.
We spend close to £10 million a year providing our specialist services. With just 18% of this funded by the Government, we rely heavily on donations and income generation from the local community.
Job description Job responsibilities
The role entails but is not limited to:
Ensuring all compliance tasks are completed in line with regulations.
Checking and monitoring of medical gases, and portable cylinders.
Collecting recycling from around the Hospice and decant into the appropriate bins.
Unloading stores that arrive and placing into the appropriate storeroom/location.
Cleaning windows.
General external ground maintenance tasks such as lawn mowing and hedge cutting etc.
Driving vehicles as required.
Flushing infrequently used outlets.
Carry out fire drill/checking call points and fire doors.
Test Emergency lighting and record findings and replace batteries/lamps as necessary.
Undertake water temperature checks.
Carrying out reactive and planned maintenance tasks.
Checking and the replacement of light bulbs across the site.
Meeting and engaging with approved suppliers.
Partake in an on-call rota
Carrying out general portering duties
