Job summary

We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Salaried GP to join our friendly and supportive team for 2 sessions per week, ideally a Tuesday but can be flexible for a fixed term of 12 months.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a well established, forward thinking practice that values teamwork, high quality patient care and continuous improvement.

Main duties of the job

As a Salaried GP you will provide high quality, compassionate care to a diverse patient population, including acute, chronic disease and preventative care.

You'll work as part of a multidisciplinary team to manage patient demand effectively, contribute to clinical decision making and ensure continuity of care.

The role includes a mix of face-to-face and telephone as well as Duty and Home visits.

Ash Grove Medical Centre is a well-established, two site GP Practice based in Knottingley with a branch surgery in Eggborough, serving a growing list of over 13,000 patients. Led by a team of dedicated GP Partners, we pride ourselves on delivering high quality, patient centred care in a supportive and inclusive environment.

We use SystmOne and benefit from strong relationships with our PCN and local healthcare providers. We are also a GP training pratcice, committed to education and continuous improvement.

Job description Job responsibilities

The Salaried GP will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a Primary Care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients. The post holder will work in accordance with the latest GMC guidance, national QOF indicators and within the scope of the practices clinical policies, protocols and values.

You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including Practice Nurses, clinical Pharmacists, ACPs and the administrative team to contribute to overall smooth running and development of the practice.

Main duties:

Provide high quality primary care to patients in accordance with GMC, CQC and NHS England Standards Conduct face-to-face, telephone, video and online consultations including management of acute, chronic and minor illnessesProvide appropriate health education and disease prevention adviceCarry our chronic disease management, reviews and medication titration in line with QOF and Local ICB pathwaysCarry out home visits when necessary and clinically appropriateRefer patients to secondary care or community services where appropriateReview and action pathology and radiology results, documents, discharge summaries and correspondencePrescribe medication safely in accordance with current guidelines and be aware of prescribing budgets and cost effective choicesProvide clinical supervision and mentorship to other clinicians as requiredParticipate in clinical and MDT meetings, significant event reviews, audits and peer discussionsTake part in duty doctor / on call rotaMaintain accurate, contemporaneous medical records in accordance with practice and GMC guidanceContribute to improving clinical governance and quality improvement activitiesSupport the training and development of medical students, GP Trainees or other learners attached to the practiceParticipate in annual appraisal and revalidation requirementsAttend protected learning sessions and mandatory trainingMaintain effective communication with patients, relatives, carers and colleagues.Provide clinical input to the development or review of practice protocols and patient pathwaysHealth & Safety

Experience Essential

Evidence of continued professional development Experience using clinical systems - SystmOne & Ardens Experience working in UK General practice / Primary Care Experience in prescribing and managing acute and long term conditions

Skills and Abilities Essential

Excellent clinical, diagnostic and decision making skills Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage a full case load, including on-call/duty doctor Competent in IT, clinical systems and digital consultation Able to prioritise and manage time effectively
