We are seeking an inspirational Clinical Lead Physiotherapist to provide professional and clinical leadership within our Intermediate Care & Community Therapy service in the Newton Abbot locality.
This is a pivotal role within the locality leadership structure, combining strategic influence, hands-on clinical work and the opportunity to shape community services that truly matter to people's lives.
You'll be supported by a strong, approachable locality leadership team and will have access to a Clinical Development Lead, offering guidance, mentorship and support for your ongoing clinical expertise and leadership development. Main duties of the job
As Clinical Lead Physiotherapist, you will:
Provide professional and clinical leadership for the Physiotherapy team within the Newton Abbot locality
Be an active member of the locality management team, contributing to service development and strategic planning
Support, supervise and develop staff, promoting a positive learning culture
Maintain an advanced clinical caseload within Intermediate Care and Community settings
Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care
Support service improvement, innovation and consistent clinical governance

Person Specification
Qualifications and training Essential
oDiploma/degree in physiotherapy. oState registration - current H.P.C. certificate. oEvidence of C.P.D maintained in a portfolio including attendance at recent postgraduate courses relevant to the clinical field. oExtensive post graduate experience in a range of specialties including care of the older people/Community/Intermediate care
Desirable
oMSc in a relevant clinical area. oManagement/leadership qualification
Knowledge and experience Essential
oWorking knowledge of a broad range of neurological, musculo-skeletal, respiratory and other medical conditions and an understanding of the multi-pathology complex needs of adults, especially older people. oClinical educator course oExperience of student supervision and assessment oKnowledge and understanding of legislation and guidelines surrounding health and social care. oKnowledge of relevant National Service Frameworks and clinical guidelines, and experience of implementing these recommendations in practice for Older people, specifically aspects referring to Stroke, Falls and Intermediate Care. Competent IT skills. Presentation skills. Experience of staff supervision.
Desirable
oPrevious experience of leading audit and research oExperience of using EPIC and Systemone for patient note recording
