Job summary ABOUT THE ROLE As a Head of Maintenance at a Barchester care home, you'll make sure we have a clean and well-maintained environment so that residents feel at home and staff can do their jobs well. We'll also need you to liaise with contractors on jobs that fall outside the expertise of your team. Main duties of the job As the Head of Maintenance at a Barchester care home, your primary role is to ensure a clean and well-maintained environment, contributing to a warm and welcoming atmosphere for residents and staff. You will handle a variety of tasks both within the care home building and in the surrounding gardens and grounds, which includes everything from fixing taps to planting bulbs. Its essential you can work independently, lead a team, and support the General Manager with budget planning. You must also liaise with contractors for specialized tasks. The wellbeing of residents must always be prioritized, and your work should reflect sensitivity to their needs. Hands-on property maintenance experience is vital, with at least one trade skill and the ability to perform a wide range of tasks required. Flexibility regarding working hours, a UK driving licence, IT literacy, and GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent) are necessary. Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Full UK driving licence, IT literacy, GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent), hands-on experience of property maintenance, and at least one trade skill.
