Job summary
A Consultant Gynaecologist - Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeonpostis available at the Liverpool Women's NHS Foundation Trust and will provide support to the Consultant Endometriosis Team. This is a Permanent post.
The successful candidate will play an important role in the endometriosis service provision undertaking advanced laparoscopic surgery in gynaecology. They are expected to be involved in the regular, established endometriosis MDT meetings and to participate in joint operating lists with colorectal and urological surgeons that is already established. The successful candidate will be expected to be part of the team developing new pathways and support the senior management team in shaping the future strategy of the gynaecology service within a specialist tertiary centre.

Teaching:
The appointee will be expected to take part in the undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programme and it is possible that the appointee may be offered an Honorary Clinical Lectureship by the University of Liverpool. The appointee will be required to share Postgraduate teaching of pre and post membership trainees in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and engage in the regional teaching programme. A demonstrable interest in education would be an advantage.
On Call:
The on-call commitment for the post is approximately 1 in 11 for gynaecology only (obstetrics only in exceptional emergency situations). We have recently moved to a two-tier gynaecology rota to enable support for new colleagues. In the fullness of time the Kingston rota will be for gynae-oncologists with different roles and responsibilities to the generalist rota. We have recently appointed 3 emergency gynaecology consultants to support acute attendances, ward admissions and emergency theatre lists.

Additional postgraduate qualifications e.g. MSc, MD/PhD, MRCS, MMedSci ATSM: benign abdominal surgery: open and laparoscopic Post CCT experience working in a BSGE accredited Endometriosis Centre
