About this role

Job summary

To provide nursing expertise, facilitating evidence-based, patient centred care for patients.

To support the Trust strategy of delivering a quality healthcare service for

patients and their families/carers.

To work within and to support the Trust Objectives and the ward/departments philosophy and standards.

To carry out theatre procedures and implement policies. Ensure patient documentation and all safety measures are carried out in accordance with departmental policy.

To act up for person with continuing responsibility as required

Base Location: Bournemouth

Main duties of the job

To assist the Theatre Team in providing patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Theatre Practitioner.

To be skilled member of the Theatre Team and participate in some lead roles with supervision of a Registered Practitioner.

To provide high standards of individualised nursing care for patients and their families by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care with supervision of Trained Theatre staff.

Recognise and report appropriately any changes in patient's condition and escalate appropriately to a Trained practitioner.

To build effective relationships with patients using empathy and reassurance and to be the patients advocate.

To provide, receive, and communicate sensitive and confidential information with the MDT, including telephone messages, answering bleeps, comments or complaints.

To attend and participate in department/ward meetings.

To support the Clinical Leader to develop and maintain clinical services that meet the needs of patients and the MDT.

This post is being advertised as a Band 3, however applicants that do not meet the required care certificate competencies will initially be employed as a Band 2.Applicants who hold a care certificate accreditation will start in post at Band 3.

As part of the interview process you will be asked to complete a numeracy and literacy assessment.
