Job summary We are seeking an experienced, motivated and compassionate Band 7 Manager to provide leadership to our Childrens Emergency Department and Paediatric Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) services at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust.
This is a key leadership role for a someone with significant paediatric urgent or emergency care experience who is passionate about patient safety, staff wellbeing and service improvement. You will play a vital role in delivering safe, effective and highquality care for children and young people, while supporting and developing the multidisciplinary team.
Main duties of the job Lead the daytoday operational management of CED and Paediatric SDEC Ensure safe staffing, skill mix, patient flow and escalation processes Provide visible and supportive leadership in a fastpaced emergency environment Maintain oversight of clinical governance, safeguarding and patient safety Line manage ward sisters/charge nurses and associated staff groups Lead investigations into incidents and complaints, embedding learning into practice Use data, audit and feedback to drive quality improvement Work collaboratively with medical teams, site management and wider paediatric services

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Registered Childrens Nurse Leadership or management qualification (or willingness to work towards) Practice assessor/mentor qualification
Experience Essential
Significant postregistration experience in paediatric emergency or urgent care
Desirable
Experience working within Paediatric SDEC services
