Agoda’s Legal team is well suited to take on the challenges presented, adopting a proactive mindset to tackle challenges and solve problems. The Opportunity
We are looking for a business-minded Product Legal Counsel to support Agoda’s expanding travel business, with a particular focus on flights, packages, and related travel products. This role covers a mix of product advisory support, consumer-facing regulatory matters, and cross-border legal issues. The successful candidate will work closely with various stakeholders including the Product, Commercial, and Finance teams to support product launches, manage legal risk, and help the business move forward in a practical way.
Key responsibilities
Advise on a broad range of legal and regulatory matters relating to Agoda’s travel business, with a particular focus on flights, packages, and adjacent travel products.
Draft, review, and negotiate agreements relating to travel-related content, software services, technology licensing, product development, and other commercial arrangements.
Provide strategic guidance on new travel products and new product features across markets.
Partner with internal stakeholders to identify legal risks, provide practical legal advice, coordinate positions across teams and jurisdictions, and escalate issues where appropriate.
Provide legal support in disputes, complaints, and consumer protection or regulatory matters including regulatory inquiries, where required.
Contribute to templates, guidance materials, and other internal know-how as the business and product offering continue to evolve.
The person appointed will be
A business-minded Product Legal Counsel with strong product advisory background, ideally with experience in travel, technology, e-commerce, digital platforms, or other consumer-facing or regulated businesses.
Practical and proactive, with the ability to identify issues early and help business stakeholders work through them.
Comfortable working across teams and able to communicate clearly with stakeholders at different levels.
Interested in supporting a fast-moving business where the work spans contracts, product launches, regulatory issues, and day-to-day legal problem-solving.
The successful applicant will have
A legal qualification to practise as a lawyer and 4+ years of post-qualification experience in private practice, in-house, or a combination of both
Law Degree / Juris Doctor
Training and admission in a common law jurisdiction
Strong experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, ideally involving technology, digital products, supplier arrangements, or consumer-facing businesses
Sound legal judgment and a practical approach to balancing legal risk with business needs
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
Comfort working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a mix of commercial, product, and regulatory issues
It would be a plus to have
Experience in flights, travel, aviation, packages, e-commerce, marketplaces, or other digital consumer businesses
Exposure to cross-border legal or regulatory issues Experience advising on consumer protection, disputes, or product launch matters
