Major DutiesThe United States Space Force (USSF) in Chantilly, VA is searching for an Acquisition Program Financial Management Specialist to support SBST at JB Anacostia-Bolling (NH-0501-03, GS-12/13 Equivalent). Description: Step into a pivotal role where your financial expertise will directly fuel the U.S. Space Force's ability to develop and sustain critical, cutting-edge space capabilities. As a key member of our team, you will serve as the functional expert for all aspects of financial management, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of our accounting systems and processes. Your daily mission will involve providing authoritative financial analysis, supporting audit readiness, managing program budgets from planning to closeout, and developing innovative solutions to complex financial challenges. Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate is an innovative self-starter and a U.S. citizen eligible for a Top Secret/SCI clearance, is able to obtain a Financial Management Level 2 Certification and meet DAWIA requirements for a Level 2 Practitioner in Business/Financial Management. They are a functional/technical expert in accounting and financial management, with deep knowledge of accounting principles, theories, and practices within a DoD framework. Their background includes extensive experience in program financial management, strategic planning, Financial Improvement and Audit Remediation (FIAR), and the full lifecycle of planning, programming, budgeting, and execution (PPBE). They excel at analyzing complex financial data, developing solutions, and possess the leadership and communication skills necessary to provide authoritative financial advice and collaborate seamlessly across diverse teams and with senior leadership. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 1. Knowledge of processes and procedures related to program management and strategic planning activities needed to execute projects and/or studies within established financial and time constraints. 2. Ability to encourage new ideas and innovations; manage human, financial and information resources strategically and build coalitions to achieve common goals. 3. Skill in working with customers to assess needs, provide assistance, resolve problems, and satisfy expectations 4. Ability to persuade others to accept recommendations, negotiate mutually acceptable solutions and execute projects and/or studies within established financial and/or time constraints. 5. Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships and to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. 6. Ability to organize work, set priorities, and determine resource requirements; determine goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinate with other organizations; monitor progress, and evaluate outcomes. 7. Knowledge of quantitative techniques and methods used to develop, adapt, modify and apply models to resolve problems or define and clarify alternative solutions.
