QualificationsTo qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 06/10/2026. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-7 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-6. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Specialized experience is defined as experience providing administrative and technical support for inventory management and logistics; conducts accountability, documenting and disposing of equipment; maintains records; provides management support such as maintaining calendars, service support, coordinating travel, and timekeeping duties. The major duties listed below represent the full performance level of GS-07. At the GS-07 grade level, you will perform assignments of a more limited scope and with less independence. You will progressively acquire the background necessary to perform at the full performance level of GS-xx. Promotion is at the discretion of the supervisor and is contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of higher level work, and availability of funds. Promotion is not guaranteed and no promise of promotion is implied. Major Duties: Annually conducts 100% physical inventory of all equipment for over 50 VA R&D labs which are spread between among multiple buildings on both the VA & Vanderbilt University campuses Handles and coordinates research equipment that is owned and maintained by Vanderbilt University and/or Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC). Initiates creation of equipment records for newly received equipment, researches system or equipment log discrepancies, conduct inventory audits, bar-coding & tagging equipment, manages and tracks the turn-in of excess R&D equipment. Responsible for the preparation, maintenance and timely submission of time and attendance reports for each affected employee whose record has been assigned to their jurisdiction. Works in conjunction with the Records Officer to ensure proper management of records created and maintained by the service. Ensures appropriate documentation is up to date, accurately tracked, and provided to NX logistics manager. Coordinates with each Primary Investigator (PI) and/or their designated representative to ensure, track and document proper accountability of equipment for their respective laboratories.RequirementsYou must be a U.S. Citizen to apply for this job To be considered for this position, you must complete all required steps in the process.
