Job SummaryAbout the Position: This position is located within an outpatient Behavioral Health Clinic at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital in Fort Campbell, Tennessee. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Student Loan repayment may be authorized.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirement for Clinical Psychologist (Mental Health): Degree: Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting mental health assessments, developing and monitoring mental health treatment plans, and providing individual and group therapy. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). License: A current, active, valid, and unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently from a U.S. State, the District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction is required. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Major DutiesAssesses and diagnoses acute mental health conditions of patients presenting to the clinic or Military Treatment Facility.Provides individual and/or group therapy using a variety of evidence-based modalities.Evaluates treatment effectiveness using objectives and measurable outcomes and makes appropriate adjustments for increased compliance and efficacy.Maintains concise documentation of care and recommendations in patient’s medical record.Provides emergency behavioral health services on a scheduled, rotating and on-call basis to patients during normal duty hours to include screening patients for appropriateness of psychiatric hospitalizations.Maintains full professional responsibility and individual accountability for professional decisions and actions (e.g., diagnoses, treatment recommendations and implementation).
