Job SummaryTHIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D2225P01 and is part of the 107TH ATKW, National Guard. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants.
QualificationsMilitary Grades: ENLISTED SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have one year specialized experience, education, or training equivalent to at least the next lower grade level that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Experience developing, coordinating, obtaining approval, and publishing plans and procedures for implementation of wing policies and instructions relating to Emergency Management (EM). Experience developing, updating, and coordinating the Wing Emergency Management Plan (IEMP) 10-2. Experience establishing wing emergency management plan objectives, effectively correlating the requirements on interdependent functional areas and provides comprehensive and timely guidance for all units in accordance with Homeland Security Presidential Directives (HSPDs), National Response Framework (NRF), National Disaster Recovery Framework (NDRF), Consequence Management (CM), National Incident Management System (NIMS), the Air Force Incident Management System (AFIMS), and DOD guidance. OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M, in related field. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position. Applicants must have a combination of specialized experience and college academic courses in business management, speech, English grammar, algebra, biology, physics, chemistry, and computer operations. Graduate Education: Education at the graduate level in an accredited college or university.
Major DutiesAs a EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (GS-0089-11), you will develop, review, coordinate and execute the wing's Emergency Management (EM) program plan in support of DOD, Joint Service, Air Force, MAJCOM, ANG, Numbered Air Force, federal, state, and county plans in the area(s) of Prevention, Protection, Mitigation, Response, and Recovery. The position develops, manages and executes the wing EM programs, ensuring effective prevention, protection, mitigation, response, and recovery operations to allow continued mission capability at the wing level.
