About this role
AbbVie is seeking a Senior Verification Engineer to join the PDS&T Injection Device group. In this role, you will lead and support verification activities for injection devices and related combination products, helping ensure that design outputs meet user needs, performance requirements, and regulatory expectations.
You will work closely with cross-functional partners to plan, execute, analyze, and document verification testing across the product development lifecycle. The ideal candidate brings strong technical rigor, attention to detail, and experience supporting regulated device development.
Responsibilities
Plan and execute verification testing for injection devices and related componentsDevelop protocols, test methods, acceptance criteria, and summary reportsAnalyze test data and evaluate whether design outputs meet requirementsSupport device characterization, failure analysis, and troubleshooting activitiesSupport design reviews, risk assessments, and requirements traceabilityIdentify gaps in verification strategy and recommend technical solutionsContribute to technical documentation, change control, and design history file contentSupport test method development, equipment setup, and laboratory readinessEnsure verification activities are performed in compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements (e.g. 21 CFR 820 / Design Controls) Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering or other related scientific discipline and typically 12 years of experience, Master’s Degree or equivalent education and typically 8-10 years of experience.Experience in the medical device, combination product, or other related scientific fields with specific focus on lab-based activities. The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time ofthis posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location,and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.
