About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician (Fitter) – Nights to join our Maintenance Team. In this role you will play a key role in supporting the reliability, performance, and compliance of our manufacturing equipment and mechanical services.
The shift pattern will be Monday - Friday Nights, but flexibility around shifts is important in this role.
This role is focused on maintaining equipment uptime, supporting health and safety standards, ensuring quality and compliance, and helping drive continuous improvement across the business unit. You will work in a highly regulated environment where teamwork, technical expertise, and a proactive approach are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Perform planned and unplanned maintenance on mechanical services, plant, and equipmentDiagnose equipment issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutionsSupport improvements in machine and equipment effectivenessSource and identify required spare parts for equipment and systemsAssist specialist vendors during preventative maintenance activitiesParticipate in FATs, commissioning, and qualification of new plant and equipmentSupport the setup and optimisation of preventative maintenance routinesContribute to risk assessments for tasks and equipmentCommunicate concerns, issues, and process improvements to managementResolve technical issues quickly and effectively to minimise downtimeSupport continuous improvement initiatives such as MEP, OEE, OPEX, RCA, and productivity programsProvide KPI tracking and reporting support for the Technical TeamAssist during regulatory and compliance auditsEnsure all maintenance activities are carried out safely and in line with health and safety requirements rade-certified Mechanical QualificationAt least 4 years of maintenance and troubleshooting experience in a highly automated production environmentStrong understanding of electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and automation systemsExperience working in a GMP or other regulated environmentProven problem-solving, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skillsAbility to read, analyse, and interpret technical data, procedures, and specificationsStrong documentation and organisational skillsAbility to work independently and manage workload effectivelyWillingness to work overtime and shift patterns as requiredExperience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or aseptic processing environments is an advantageKnowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic schematics and mechanical specificationsExperience maintaining electromechanical manufacturing equipmentMachining and welding experience would be beneficial AbbVie is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to operating with integrity, driving innovation, transforming lives and serving our community.
