Job SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced and people-focused MSL Manager to lead and develop a high-performing Medical Science Liaison team within Allergan Aesthetics. This role is responsible for strengthening scientific engagement with healthcare professionals, building team capabilities, and ensuring consistent, high-quality field execution. The MSL Manager will work closely with the Medical Excellence team, broader Medical Affairs organization, and cross-functional partners to translate medical strategy into impactful execution while fostering a culture of scientific excellence, compliance, and continuous development.

This is a people leadership role with direct responsibility for the MSL team. The successful candidate will be expected to hire, coach, develop, and inspire team members, set clear objectives, drive performance, and create an environment that supports scientific excellence, collaboration, and career growth.

Lead recruitment and selection of high-caliber MSL talentCoach and develop MSLs to build scientific capability, field effectiveness, and long-term career growthBuild strong collaboration between the MSL team and key cross-functional stakeholdersProvide regular coaching, feedback, and performance guidance to team membersSupport onboarding and ongoing development to maintain a high-performing MSL organizationFoster an inclusive, high-accountability team culture focused on development and resultsPlanning and delivery: 40%
Translate medical strategy into clear team objectives and execution plansGuide the team to deliver medical priorities with quality, consistency, and timelinessPartner with Medical Affairs, Medical Excellence, and cross-functional teams to align field execution with business and medical prioritiesLead team planning for scientific exchange and healthcare professional engagementEnsure effective territory planning and customer engagement across the MSL teamSupport high-quality external scientific interactions through coaching and guidanceMonitor team performance and adjust priorities to support delivery of key objectivesIdentify risks and opportunities, and communicate progress to relevant stakeholdersCapture field insights and help translate them into actionable recommendationsEncourage strong collaboration across internal teams to maximize medical impactPromote effective communication across functions to support alignment and execution excellence Compliance: 10%
Ensure strict adherence to medical, legal, and compliance standards in all MSL activitiesEnsure 100% completion of all mandatory training requirements by the MSL team within the required timelines Education and Experience - Required
Advanced degree in medicine, pharmacy, life sciences, or a related fieldRelevant experience in clinical practice, clinical research, or another medical/scientific fieldSignificant Medical Affairs experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industryExperience in project management and/or people managementPrevious experience in a Medical Science Liaison roleEducation and Experience - Preferred
Experience in clinical research, scientific publication, or medical communications is preferredTechnical / Skills - Required
Strong understanding of Medical Affairs and scientific exchange within the pharmaceutical industryStrong cross-functional collaboration skills, including the ability to work effectively with Medical Excellence and other internal partnersStrong project management, prioritization, and execution skills in a matrix environmentProven people leadership skills, with the ability to coach, develop, and drive team performanceTechnical / Skills - Preferred
