Join Our Mission to Advance Quantum Communication in Space At Quantum Technology Laboratories GmbH (qtlabs), we are at the forefro... 1 Technical Procurement Expert (all genders) Key Responsibilities * Support procurement activities for technical components and services related to quantum communication systems (e.g. optics, electronics, or photonic components) * Assist in collecting and reviewing technical and quality requirements in cooperation with development teams * Support supplier identification, qualification, and comparison for specialized high-technology markets * Participate in technical and commercial evaluations of offers and tenders * Assist with contract preparation, purchase orders, and documentation management * Track orders, deliveries, and supplier performance * Ensure compliance with internal procurement processes, quality standards, and relevant regulations * Contribute to cost transparency, documentation, continuous improvement initiatives and support cost optimization initiatives * Identify technical and supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies Your Profile * Degree in engineering, supply chain management, procurement, or a comparable technical field * Strong interest in quantum technologies, aerospace, photonics, advanced communications, or deep-tech environments * First experience through internships, working student roles, or junior positions in procurement, engineering, or supply-chain functions is an advantage * Ability to understand and work with technical specifications, documentation, drawings, and standards * Structured, detail-oriented working style with a willingness to learn complex technologies * Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset for working with cross-functional teams * Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and cost awareness * Fluency in English; additional languages (especially German) are an advantage Nice to Have * Experience with aerospace systems * Overview of manufacturers of optics, micro-optics, coatings, optical fibres and fibre components * Familiarity with export control and dual use regulations * Proven negotiation skills with the ability to balance technical, commercial, and contractual aspects What we offer * A mission-driven environment developing quantum-secure communication for the space era. * Close collaboration with leading researchers and engineers in quantum optics, FPGA, and embedded systems. * Hands-on involvement in all phases - from prototype to flight model. * Flat hierarchies, ownership, and the opportunity to drive innovation in an emerging deep-tech sector. * A collaborative and innovative environment in Vienna, a global hub for quantum research and space technology. * Flexible work arrangements in a hybrid model combining remote and onsite collaboration * The opportunity to make a lasting impact on the future of quantum technologies * Balanced work-life integration for our employees * Attractive workplace with excellent infrastructure at Wienerberg * Great Italian espresso * Humorous and friendly work atmosphere Working time and location * Full time * Flexible working hours within our flexitime scheme, 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. * Vienna, 1100 The minimum gross salary for this position is € 3.284,86 per month (based on full-time employment) in accordance with the collective agreement.
