Contract: Fixed Term Salary: £32,916 - £51,048 (MPR/UPR) + SEN 2 £5,497 Location: Bradfields Specialist SEN Academy, Medway Towns, Kent Start Date: September 2026

Fortis Trust is seeking a passionate, creative, and dedicated Teacher of English to join our English department in a specialist SEN setting on a fixed term (1 year) contract. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled practitioner who is committed to ensuring every learner, regardless of need, can flourish, progress, and achieve their fullest potential.

As a Teacher of English, you will design and deliver engaging, accessible, and adapted lessons that inspire confidence in reading, writing, and communication catering for students with learning needs, autism and communication difficulties.

The academy seeks to appoint an enthusiastic, qualified teacher of English to join an innovative forward-thinking department. The department currently offers qualifications including entry level and GCSE, and the successful candidate would have the opportunity to teach at all levels.

Is a qualified teacher (QTS), ideally with experience in SEN or a strong interest in developing their skills in this fieldHas a deep understanding of English education and the ability to adapt teaching to a wide range of needs and abilitiesDesirable - experience delivering phonicsIs patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic about supporting students with diverse learning profilesCan work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionalsIs reflective, resilient, and committed to continuous professional growthApplicants should have a clear understanding of effective teaching, raising and sustaining achievement, and the care and support of complex individuals. They should have a vision and a drive to deliver meaningful and personalised curricula. Both experienced teachers and those just setting out in their careers would be considered.
