Fixed Term Contract for one year initially

We are seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Key Stage 1 Class Teacher (full time) who shares our ambition for high-quality teaching, strong foundations in early learning, and excellent outcomes for all pupils.

The Trust wishes to appoint an excellent and committed teacher to join Hampsthwaite C of E Primary School from September 2026. We warmly welcome applications from candidates looking for a full time role, ECT are also welcome to apply.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

Deliver consistently high-quality teaching within Key Stage 1 Plan and deliver a broad, engaging and well-sequenced KS1 curriculum, ensuring progression and clear learning outcomes across subjects Demonstrate flexibility and confidence in planning for mixed-age classes, ensuring learning is appropriately pitched for all pupils Have a strong focus on securing excellent outcomes for all learners, including pupils with SEND, those in receipt of Pupil Premium, and higher attaining pupils Place a strong emphasis on early reading, recognising its importance as the gateway to the wider curriculum Teach systematic synthetic phonics effectively, using our chosen programme, Monster Phonics Demonstrate a clear understanding of the Phonics Screening Check, using assessment effectively to ensure all pupils are well prepared Teach the fundamentals of mathematics, ensuring pupils develop secure number sense, fluency and early reasoning skills Create a calm, purposeful and engaging classroom environment that reflects our commitment to consistency, inclusion and high expectations Foster a love of learning so that children are motivated to enjoy, achieve and flourish works effectively in partnership with teaching assistants and colleagues; is a reflective practitioner with high expectations for achievement, behaviour and inclusion; contributes positively to the wider life of the school and Trust.
