What skills and experience we're looking forAt The Mary Bassett Lower School we are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to become the part time teacher working with us to set up and lead teaching and learning in our new Internal Alternative Provision (IAP), called The Nest. The role is 5 mornings a week, 8.30am -12.15pm We are looking for a qualified teacher who has successfully completed their ECT induction years and preferably with SEND experience. The role may also include some wider school class cover.
Our IAP will support pupils with significant SEMH, speech, language and communication needs. Many of our pupils are pre-verbal, have diagnoses of Autism and hold Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Some pupils are awaiting specialist placements. The Nest offers a much smaller learning environment that will facilitate learning and progress for specific pupils. The successful candidate will lead additional staff members.

Be committed to personal CPD to enhance the curriculum offer
Have the communication skills to support the Assess, Plan, Do, Review process with staff and parents.
Write necessary reports and hold parent meetings.
Work alongside external agencies and consider specialist advice
