About this role
Mark Hall Academy is seeking to appoint a committed, organised and compassionate Thinking Reading Tutor to join our team and play a vital role in improving literacy outcomes for our students. This is an opportunity to make a direct and meaningful difference to young people who need additional support to access learning and fulfil their potential.
At Mark Hall, we believe that every student deserves to feel known, supported and successful. Strong literacy skills are fundamental to this, and we are looking for someone who shares our belief that all children can learn and make excellent progress when given the right teaching, support and encouragement.
The successful candidate will deliver the Thinking Reading Programme, a structured and evidence-based intervention designed to support students who are significantly behind in reading. Through carefully planned one-to-one sessions, you will help students build confidence, improve reading fluency and develop the skills they need to succeed across the curriculum and beyond.
This role would suit someone who is patient, highly organised and genuinely committed to helping young people overcome barriers to learning. You will need to be someone who combines warmth with high expectations and who understands the importance of consistency, encouragement and positive relationships in supporting student progress.
At Mark Hall Academy, we are ambitious for our students and serious about improvement. Colleagues joining our school become part of a supportive and hardworking team where staff are valued, expectations are clear and professional development is prioritised. As part of BMAT Education, you will also benefit from being part of a wider family of schools that shares expertise, develops talent and works collaboratively to improve outcomes for all young people.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who wants to make a visible difference every day and be part of a school with purpose, ambition and heart.
