About this role
We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Learning Support Assistant. This role primarily involves providing English and Maths support for a pupil or pupils in a variety of situations including within the classroom, on a one-to-one basis and leading small groups. The successful candidate will work well within a team under the direction of the Class Teacher and SENDCo, whilst also acting on their own initiative to adapt resources and activities to ensure that the learning is accessible. They will bring a warm, positive and encouraging approach to help pupils to thrive academically and build resilience and independence.
Key responsibilities:
Provide tailored support to meet pupils’ individual learning needsEncourage confidence, independence and resilience through positive reinforcement and a relational approachWork closely with the Class Teacher and SENDCo to implement strategies and interventionsSupport pupils’ social and emotional developmentAdapt resources and activities to ensure accessibility and engagementMaintain accurate records of progress and contribute to reviews and planning meetingsSupervise and support positive interactions in the playground and lunch hall through a relational approach, and following our school’s behaviour policyDelivering first aid and recording this appropriatelyLiaising with staff members across the school as requiredRecording safeguarding incidents or concerns in line with school policiesThe successful applicant will have:
Permission to work in the UKGCSE grade C/4 or above in maths and English (or equivalent)Previous experience in working with childrenStrong communication, organisation and teamwork skillsAbility to adapt learning materials to suit individual needsCommitment to promoting inclusion and pupil wellbeingSupportive of our schools’ Christian ethos and values
