About this role
The Governors wish to appoint an enthusiastic, qualified Class Teacher on a fixed‑term basis for one year initially, with the possibility of extension. The role is based within our Key Stage 1 Enhanced Learning Provision (ELP), supporting our inclusive approach to educating children with special educational needs who struggle to access the curriculum at an age‑appropriate level.
The successful applicant will:
be supportive of the Catholic ethos of our schoolprovide academic, behavioural and social support for individual pupils and small groupshave a strong understanding of the National Curriculum, with a proven record of achieving high pupil outcomesdemonstrate good knowledge of adaptive teaching strategies to ensure inclusive practice for pupils with Special Educational Needsbe enthusiastic, reflective and an effective communicatorhave high standards of oral, written and numeracy skillsbe committed to raising pupils’ attainment, particularly in literacy and mathematics, with an understanding of intervention strategies relevant to Key Stage 1 and EYFSbe committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all childrenhave some subject leadership experience, or be able to demonstrate readiness to lead a foundation curriculum subjectExperience of working in a Catholic school is desirable but not essential.
