About this role

Location: Old Road Campus, Headington, Oxford, OX3 7LF

Oxford Population Health (the Nuffield Department of Population Health) provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching and for professional and support staff. We work together to answer some of the most important questions about the causes, prevention and treatment of disease.

We are seeking an Application Developer to contribute the design, development, enhancement, and ongoing support of IT systems essential to the laboratory’s accreditation to ISO 17025:2017. The post-holder will be a member of NDPH Wolfson Laboratories staff, reporting to the LIMS Development Manager, but is expected to work effectively with colleagues in the laboratory and the wider department. In addition to core application development responsibilities, the post-holder will provide technical advice, troubleshooting, and user support to researchers and laboratory staff.

To be considered, you must hold a good degree, recognised computing qualification or equivalent experience. Proficient in C++ or Java programming language and good working knowledge of SQL, relational database design, and able to extract and manipulate data to meet set criteria along with being familiar with using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) preferably in Microsoft Access and Excel.

This is a full time, fixed term post (part time considered) for 2 years.
