Job summary
Nottingham and Nottinghamshire sexual health service are seeking a motivated and experienced nurse to join our dynamic and patient focused sexual health service. The successful applicant will provide care for patients on the sexual health pathway. this will include the management of patients who present with sexually transmitted infections, sexual dysfunction, HIV, contraception and any other sexual health related problems. The service is delivered from the main hubs, GU Medicine at Nottingham City Hospital, Retford Hospital, spoke clinics around Nottingham and Nottinghamshire and outreach venues.
The post holder will be employed by Nottingham University Hospital trust, the directorate of Sexual Health. Since October 2024, Retford and Worksop have joined Sexual Health at NUH.
The successful applicant will be required to work at Retford Hospital and a community clinic in Worksop as part of their job plan .
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be expected to: -
To provide specialist nursing care by assessing, diagnosing and planning care to meet the needs of Sexual Health Patients.
To take responsibility for the care of a caseload of Sexual Health patients requiring specialist Sexual health care.
To provide advice, information, education and counselling to patients who attend the department and to those who are diagnosed with a sexually transmitted infection or require contraception.
To work within multi-disciplinary teams, providing specialist advice to clients within central, peripheral and outreach clinics.
Undertake any other duties that may reasonably be required.
Adhere to trust policies and participate in future developments within the service.
