Job summary
Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are seeking motivated and enthusiastic Orthopaedic Scrub Practitioners to join our busy and dynamic Theatre teams.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) with a passion for orthopaedic surgery to develop within a supportive and progressive peri-operative environment. We are looking for individuals who are committed to delivering safe, high-quality and compassionate patient care whilst working within a multidisciplinary theatre team.
Our theatres provide a wide range of orthopaedic procedures, including elective and trauma surgery, and you will play a key role in supporting patients throughout their peri-operative journey.
Main duties of the job
Participate in the scrub and circulating role for orthopaedic procedures
Deliver high standards of evidence-based peri-operative care
Prepare and manage specialist orthopaedic instrumentation and equipment
Work collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists and the wider MDT
Advocate for patients and maintain patient dignity and safety at all times
Support infection prevention, clinical governance and patient safety initiatives
Contribute to teaching, mentoring and supporting learners and new staff
Maintain accurate peri-operative documentation and comply with Trust policies and professional standards
We are looking for candidates who have:
Current UK registration with the NMC or HCPC
Previous scrub experience, ideally within orthopaedics
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A flexible and proactive approach to work
A commitment to continuous professional development and high standards of patient care

Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD) clearly recorded for professional profile. Knowledge and experience of a range of approaches to the management of patients utilizing clinical reasoning. Adherence to current statutory requirements, standards and regulations. Awareness of local and national agenda within the specialty.
