Job summary
This Consultant role forms part of a dynamic and forward-thinking Community Mental Health Team at Hafan Hedd Community Mental Health Centre, Newcastle Emlyn. The post comprises 10 sessions, with opportunities to develop additional sessions linked to sub-specialty interests.
You will play a key role in delivering and shaping Adult Community Mental Health services across South Ceredigion, contributing to ongoing service transformation across Hywel Dda to create flexible, responsive and integrated care. The role involves regular travel across the CMHT catchment area, with occasional travel to other Health Board sites and partner organisations.
The post offers a high level of support where you will also benefit from access to a specialist Medical Education and Library service, alongside strong links with Swansea and Cardiff Universities, supporting teaching, training and research opportunities.

Main duties of the job
Deliver Consultant-level care in Adult Community Mental Health Psychiatry across South Ceredigion Support and develop a comprehensive community-based mental health service centred at Hafan Hedd Provide Responsible Clinician and Consultant input for inpatient care Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, primary care and social services Contribute to service development and ongoing transformation of mental health services Provide clinical leadership, supervision and training to staff Participate in teaching (undergraduate and postgraduate), audit, CPD and research activity Travel regularly within the CMHT area and occasionally across the wider Health Board

Person Specification
Qualifications and Knowledge Essential
Full registration and a License to Practice with the General Medical Council. On the GMC Specialist Register (including via Portfolio Pathway (CESR)/European Community Rights) or will have CCT due within six months of interview date. Section 12 Approved. AC Approved Clinician Status Valid Certified Advanced Life Support. Where a sub-specialty interest is required sub-specialty training should be to a level appropriate for UK consultant sub-specialist practice - fellowship or equivalent level experience.

Clinical Experience Essential
Broad based experience within the specialty area. Able to demonstrate core competencies and clinical skills relevant to the post. Experience of leading a team.
