Main duties of the job A Charge Nurse at Lakefield Neurological Centre in Chigwell will lead a team of nurses, ensuring smooth daily operations while making a difference in patients' lives. The successful candidate will manage a nursing team at a 22-bed facility specializing in neuro-rehabilitation and care for neurological conditions, tracheostomy, and ventilator care. Responsibilities include delegating tasks, supervising team members, monitoring patient conditions, and making critical decisions on assignments and resources. The role demands strong leadership skills, relevant nursing qualifications, NMC registration, significant neuro experience, and competence in complex care, such as tracheostomy and ventilator management.

What you will be doing
With previous experience from the NHS or private care, you will oversee and provide high-quality care and support to people in a Neurological setting, while supporting your team and colleagues and promote good teamwork. As a Charge Nurse, you’ll lead and coordinate the quality and management of nursing care and delivering of clinical services, ensuring the day-to-day operations of your unit is performing well. You'll also;
Delegate nursing tasks to Nurses working in the unit and coordinate with other teams Monitor service users’ conditions and respond to changes Supervise other members within the team's unit and provide guidance and support Make critical decisions regarding service user assignments, staff scheduling, and resource allocation Be liaison between nursing staff and other healthcare professionals, with effective communication and collaboration No two days will be the same, with plenty to keep you engaged and motivated, but also a good amount of routine. A relevant nursing qualification NMC registration Strong Neuro experience at Charge Nurse/Ward sister level. Tracheostomy, ventilator, PEG, catheter care competent practitioner Experience in leading a team within the complex Neurological/Respiratory care environment A positive attitude and be naturally caring and compassionate A commitment to high-quality care and to values and evidence-based practice Relevant experience in a similar environment Proven track record of leadership skills Where you will be working

Lakefields Neurological Centre is a 22-bed service that delivers specialist 24-hour nursing and therapy services for people with complex long-term neurological conditions who require ongoing support and assistance to maximise their functional ability and improve their quality of life. The Centre specialises in neuro-rehabilitation, tracheostomy and ventilator care. Bedrooms are adapted to individual requirements, fitted with high dependency equipment including ceiling track hoists, wall mounted suction and oxygen equipment. There are also well-equipped therapy facilities, spacious lounge areas and wheelchair access to beautiful gardens.

Qualifications Essential
