Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Team for a Band 8a Finance Business Manager. Applications from qualified accountants or part qualified accountants who are in their final stage of study will be considered (please note entry level to Band 8a will be dependent on full qualification being achieved).
You will become an integral part of our dynamic and friendly Finance Team, working in a challenging, diverse but rewarding NHS environment that strives to provide better health and care for all.
Reporting into the Finance Business Partner, you will play a valued role working in close partnership with Care Group Senior Managers. You will ensure they operate within an agreed financial envelope attributed to them, through efficiencies and Cost Improvement Program (CIP) delivery, that will contribute to theTrust deliveringits financial plan.
The services that this post supports will be agreed dependant on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
Main duties of the job
To support the Finance Business Partner (FBP) for your Care Group to deliver the Trust's Financial Risk Rating, as determined by the Financial Compliance Framework of NHSI and the elements attributable in those targets to the Care Group Joint working with the Care Groups Senior Managers to reduce costs through efficiencies and Cost Improvement Program (CIP) delivery, ensuring the Care Group can live within an agreed envelope attributed to them that will ensure the Trust delivers its financial plan. Interpreting highly complex financial data and giving advice on financial risks to ensure the budgets/envelopes agreed are achievable and owned by the Care Group and the delegated budget holders, inclusive of CIP targets To participate fully in the Operational Business support and partnering work of the Finance Department as well as provide leadership to the Finance Management Accounting team (Band 7 Senior Management Accountant and below). Supporting the Trust and Care Group in achieving their respective financial objectives and implementing and communicating national and local policies across the Trust

Qualifications and Training Essential
Educated to master's level or equivalent professional qualification of financial management /finance nature Significant Senior Finance Experience, including team management
Desirable
CCAB Qualified Accountant
Specific Skills Essential
Able to produce reports using data that are comprehensive and meet requirements of operational partners Demonstrable evidence of service development and improvement in a large complex organisation
Knowledge and Experience Essential
Specialist knowledge over a range of financial areas, understanding of the principles of accountancy via qualification and practical experience
Desirable
Highly developed Specialist, in depth understanding of accounting processes and procedures of NHS legislation and NHS policies
