Job summary
This opportunity comes at an exciting time in the development of our long term conditions rehabilitation services and we are looking for the right person with the vision and experience to represent physiotherapy and contribute to these ongoing service developments.
Your role will be to provide the operational and professional leadership for the a variety of physiotherapy Rehabilitation services. You will be involved in the building and developing of existing services within the remit of the role balancing the expertise of our clinical specialists with strategic influences to shape and develop the services.
You will work with the Assistant Head of Physiotherapy, the Head of Physiotherapy and our wider multi-professional team as part of this work.
The right candidate will have a strong team ethos and will value the importance of involving the clinical teams as an integral part of the service development.
Main duties of the job
To be responsible for service delivery and the day to day operational management of a specific area of the Physiotherapy Service.
To act as an autonomous practitioner using advanced clinical reasoning, providing expert intervention, delivering highly specialised assessment and treatment programmes to patients with highly complex presentations and independently manage their own complex caseload as part of a multi-disciplinary team
To ensure services within the specialty area are delivered within budget and support the achievement of the department annual financial targets.
To work as a member of the physiotherapy leadership team and in conjunction with the Head of Service, to plan and deliver the medium and long term departmental strategy in line with organisational and professional direction, ensuring plans are developed with the prudent principles reflecting safety, quality, effectiveness and efficiency.
To assist the Head of Service identify needs, evaluate priorities and plan for the development of the service, seeking to introduce new developments and innovations and ensuring evidence based Physiotherapy is implemented.

Qualifications Essential
BSc Physiotherapy Masters Level qualification (clinical/management) or equivalent accredited post graduate specialist courses/training relevant to role. Leadership/management qualification or equivalent evidence of management development e.g. leadership/coaching/mentoring
Desirable
Member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. Knowledge of change management principles.

Evidence of extensive post graduate experience, including as a senior clinician or team leader within a specialist service.
