Ready to take your radiography career up a gear? We're looking for dynamic, forward thinking Band 6 Radiographers to join our expanding cross sectional imaging team -- whether your passion is CT, MRI, or you're excited to develop across both.

Main duties of the job

Deliver high quality CT and/or MRI imaging, ensuring safe, efficient and patient centred examinations across both Musgrove Park Hospital and the brand new Bridgwater Community Diagnostic Centre.

Rotate through our state of the art CDC, working with the latest scanners and streamlined pathways to support faster diagnosis and improved patient access.

Use advanced clinical skills to plan, perform and adapt a wide range of cross sectional imaging examinations, making real time decisions to optimise image quality.

Cannulate patients and administer contrast safely in line with PGDs and Trust protocols.

Prioritise and coordinate daily workflow, ensuring smooth patient throughput and effective use of scanner time.

Work autonomously within a supportive team, contributing to extended hours and oncall services as required.

Support and mentor junior radiographers, students and support staff, helping to build skills and confidence within the team.

Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, relatives and colleagues, ensuring excellent patient experience throughout the imaging pathway.

Contribute to service development through audit, quality improvement projects and the implementation of best practice.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

DCR or BSc in radiography. HPC registered.

Desirable

Trained to undertake IV cannulation and administer contrast media. Post graduate qualification in CT or MRI scanning

Experience Essential

Experience of working in the NHS Experience in CT or MRI scanning

Desirable

Minimum 2 years post graduate experience. Experience of working in a busy imaging department, providing a full range of imaging.

Additional Criteria Essential

Good organisational skills. Good timekeeper. Flexible attitude to service provision and enthusiasm for change. Ability to work under pressure and use own initiative. Willingness to use technology to improve standards of care and support to our patients.
