Band 6, £39,959 - £48,117 Per annum pro rata
Hours: Part time, 30 hours per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working
Join a progressive, friendly complex medicine therapy team.
Our Complex Medicine team is excited to welcome a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join us on a fixed term basis to cover maternity leave. We deliver high quality, holistic assessment and care for patients admitted to medical beds, and we are looking for someone who shares our enthusiasm for excellent patient-centred practice.You will have the opportunity to work across of variety of medical wards covering frailty, gastro, and our intermediate care style ward. In May 26 we see our brand new Oak wards opening, providing state of the art environment to support older adults living with frailty.

Main duties of the job
What you'll be doingo Providing complex assessments and interventions within a dynamic multidisciplinary team.o Using evidence based practice to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate therapy interventions.o Contributing to service development within a rapidly evolving clinical environment.o Supervising and supporting junior colleagues and therapy assistants as part of your leadership responsibilities.
What we're looking forWe are seeking a motivated, flexible, and forward thinking therapist with experience in complex medical, elderly care, or frailty settings. Strong communication, excellent time management, and the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively are essential.HCPC registration and a recognised Occupational Therapy qualification are required.
Professional growth and developmentYou will have the opportunity to attend our established MSc Frailty module, developed in partnership with Northampton University, as well as ongoing support from our dedicated Therapy Practice Development team.

To undertake Comprehensive Geriatric Assessments for patients, including those with a complex presentation, using advanced investigative and analytical skills and to formulate individualised management and treatment plans, using clinical reasoning and utilising a wide range of treatment skills and options to formulate a specialised programme of care and signpost to other specialist or services re-evaluating as appropriate.

Qualifications and knowledge Essential
Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy Registered with UK Health Care Professions Council Evidence of post registration CPD Sound therapeutic & clinical knowledge

Member of CSP/RCOT Membership of Specialist Interest group(s) Fieldwork Education training
Experience Essential
Relevant experience in an NHS hospital setting Experience of providing support and education to patients and carers
