Job summary
We are looking to appoint 3 WTE Consultant posts in Medical Microbiology & Infectious Diseases based at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals and The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust (split site working - 2 posts) and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals and Barnsley NHS Foundation Trust (split site working - 1 post).
There may be potential opportunity to work at another of the sites within SYBP subject to the needs of the service and the interests of the applicant
Pathology Services (including Medical microbiology) are provided by South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Pathology Services (SYBP) and hosted by Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This post will expand the service at Rotherham and Barnsley, and the post holders will be part of the wider microbiology and virology team based in Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster and Bassetlaw.
Posts 1 & 2 - Will be based at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust with split site working.
Post 3 - Will be based at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Barnsley NHS Foundation Trust with split site working.

Main duties of the job
The appointees will, together with other Consultant colleagues, be responsible for the provision of providing clinical microbiology, infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship advice for The Rotherham Hospital Foundation Trust, Barnsley Foundation Trust and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.
The successful candidate will work according to the terms and conditions of the national consultant contract.

Qualifications Essential
Full and Specialist registration (with a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC), or be eligible for registration within six months of interview. Name on the specialist register for Infectious Diseases and Medical Microbiology or eligible within 6 months of the date of the interview. FRCPath or show evidence of equivalent qualification If an applicant is UK trained, they must also be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview. MRCP or equivalent
