Job summary
Working Part time: 15 hours per week
The post holder will be based within the Education Department and work collaboratively with division/department staff and Security Team to support the workforce in undertaking appropriate training in relation to conflict resolution. Primarily the role will involve the development and delivery of conflict resolution and breakaway skills training.
Main duties of the job
1. Work alongside the Security and wider Training Teams to develop and deliver a programme of training to both clinical and non-clinical staff.
2. Deliver in-person training sessions, including workshops on managing challenging behaviour, communication, and conflict resolution/breakaway techniques.
3. With support from the subject matter expert, create, refresh, and updating training content and materials, often focusing on practical, scenario-based learning.
4. Ensure all training is compliant with current legislation, national and local policies.
5. Assess learning outcomes and provide post-training evaluation to ensure competence in conflict management skills.
6. Assist in the identification of staff training needs and development of a learning needs analysis through a risk-based approach on each area.
7. Ensure adequate and timely provision of training to meet demand, working with the wider Education Teams to secure venues and advertise training.
8. Monitor training compliance and proactively work with wards/departments to ensure maintenance of compliance target.

Qualifications Essential
Hold an approved train the trainer certificate in conflict resolution Formal training qualifications, such as Level 3 Award in Education & Training or equivalent
Knowledge and experience Essential
Experience of delivering training in a large organisation, ideally within the NHS or a public-facing, complex environment Previous experience of delivering training aligned with the NHS Security Management Service national syllabus Have a background in security management or law enforcement Strong understanding of non-verbal communication, de-escalation techniques, and the legal aspects of "reasonable force".
