Main duties of the job
Deliver assessments and interventions across care homes, residential units, and patients' homes. Work closely with a supportive multi-disciplinary team to reduce hospital admissions and facilitateearly discharges. Supervise and mentor junior staff and students. Prescribe, order, and teach the safe use of equipment. Build strong partnerships with colleagues, patients, familiesand local agencies.

Person Specification
Education/Qualification Essential
Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council
Experience Essential
Relevant work experience in a variety of clinical Settings. Evidence of up-to-date CPD Experience working as part of an MDT. Use of functional and cognitive assessments.
Desirable
Evidence of previous employment as an Occupational therapist at Band 5 grade Experience working in the Care of Elderly and with Acutely unwell patients
Skills & Knowledge Essential
Knowledge of current best practices in Occupational Therapy and demonstrate clinical reasoning, applying theory to practice. Demonstrate an ability to work single-handedly with individuals or in a team. Understanding of professional ethics and their application in practice Adherence to national, professional, and work-related policy Health, safety, and risk awareness Demonstrate an understanding of clinical governance and its implications for the profession. Good organisational skills, ability to prioritise and manage time/caseload effectively. Understanding of team dynamics and good interpersonal skills Effective written and oral communication skills. Ability to listen and present written and verbal information concisely and logically. Good IT skills (word processing and internet)
Key Attributes Essential
Able to work both independently and with direct and indirect supervision. Interest in working in outpatients, wards, and community settings. Willingness to work flexibly at a variety of locations, travel from site to site within service delivery within the Borough of Barnet Hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010)
