Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician passionate about medicines governance to join us as a key member of the Pharmacy Team at Ipswich Hospital.
You will support pharmacy and medicines governance across the organisation working closely with the Chief Pharmacist (Controlled DrugsAccountable Officer) to ensure the safe management of controlled drugs. Being able to develop strong working relationships with key individuals across the organisation as a "critical friend" is essential for this role. You will also need good time management skills along with being able to prioritise your workload.
In addition you will also play an important role supporting robust oversight of pharmacy governance including regulatory compliance. This willinvolve working with all areas of the Pharmacy Team. You will also be expected to undertake a clinical pharmacy role.
ESNEFT has recently implemented the EPIC electronic patient record which includes electronic prescribing and administration; and a pharmacy stock control system.
Main duties of the job
You will be a key member of the pharmacy department and will support pharmacy and medicines governance. You will assist the Trust Controlled Drugs Accountable Officer (CDAO) in the safe management of controlled drugs ensuring compliance withlicences and legislation trust-wide. You will also assist the department management by supporting the pharmacy governance systems. You will also have a role as a clinical pharmacy technician delivering medicines optimisation pharmacy service to hospital ward(s).
