LAB Development Engineer Our team in Haag, Switzerland is looking for you to join as a Lab Development Engineer within the R&D environment. You will be responsible for developing and executing advanced testing and measurement methods for innovative product segments, working closely with an incubator business unit and cross-functional development teams. You will contribute to experimental design, data analysis, laboratory infrastructure, and the continuous improvement of testing capabilities in cutting-edge technology areas. WHAT WE OFFER * Join a global leader at the forefront of semiconductor innovation, we are a globally leading company in the semiconductor industry * A technologically advanced and innovative working environment with Modern Laboratory and testing facilities * Thrive in a collaborative, innovative environment that celebrates bold ideas and outstanding execution — where your potential knows no bounds * Enjoy an exceptional working environment with great amenities at our VAT Group offices in the Swiss canton of St. Gallen * Receive competitive compensation and benefits aligned with your expertise and contributions YOUR CHALLENGES * Development and implementation of new testing and measurement methods for innovative product segments in collaboration with an incubator business unit * Planning, execution, and analysis of experiments in technology and product development projects * Systematic build-up of know-how in new technologies and application areas * Close collaboration with cross-functional development teams and provision of metrology expertise * Execution of complex, customer- and project-specific tests beyond standard production capabilities * Root cause analysis of product failures and support in resolving customer complaints * Ensuring operational readiness and continuous improvement of laboratory equipment and infrastructure * Develop and improve data processing and analysis workflows for automated evaluation, reporting, and visualization * Contribute to standardization, optimization, and continuous improvement of laboratory processes, test procedures, documentation, and best practices YOUR COMPETENCIES * PhD (highly preferred) or Master’s degree in Applied Physics, Vacuum Technology, Measurement Engineering, or closely related fields * Strong theoretical and hands-on knowledge of vacuum technology, measurement methods, and vacuum sensor applications * Proven laboratory experience in building, executing, and analyzing complex experimental setups and measurement systems * Experience in system development and integration (sensors, actuators, control systems) * Background in semiconductor industry is an advantage * Ability to translate innovative concepts into testable and measurable requirements * Background in vacuum sensor testing is a strong benefit * Strong analytical skills in data interpretation, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and failure investigation * Programming skills in Python for automated data processing, evaluation, visualization, and reporting * Fluent in English; German skills are a plus
