Main Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals in line with recipes, dietary requirements and portion standards Support the preparation of specialist meals including soft diets, diabetic meals and allergen-free meals Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness Record temperatures and complete food safety documentation accurately Monitor stock levels and support stock rotation procedures Assist with meal service and ensure timely delivery to wards and dining areas Operate kitchen equipment safely and report faults where necessary Work collaboratively with the Senior Cook, Team Leader and wider catering team Follow infection prevention and control procedures at all timesWhat Were Looking ForWe are looking for someone who has:

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
We are looking for someone who has previous experience working within a commercial kitchen, care or catering environment. A good understanding of food hygiene and safe food handling practices is essential, as is knowledge of allergens and dietary requirements. Good communication and teamwork skills, along with the ability to work in a busy kitchen environment, are necessary. A flexible approach to shift work including weekends and bank holidays is required. Desirable qualifications include: experience within healthcare or hospital catering, NVQ Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification, and knowledge of NHS catering standards.
