Our client, Castleblaney Plant Hire Limited t/a Monaghan Hire based in Castleblaney, Co. Monaghan, is currently seeking Motor Mechanics for immediate start for their two locations in Co. Monaghan. Key Responsibilities & Duties - To carry out servicing, diagnostics and repair work on a wide variety of vehicles and small plant equipment used within our hire fleet - To maintain the safety, performance and reliability of machinery and supporting smooth operations across sites - Perform routine servicing and maintenance on diesel and petrol engines, small plant equipment, and company vehicles. - Diagnose and repair faults in engines, hydraulics, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems. - Conduct pre-hire inspections and post-hire checks to ensure equipment is in full working order. - Maintain service records and complete job cards accurately and on time. - Liaise with the Workshop Manager and other team members to prioritise repair work and minimise downtime. - Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety standards. - Identify and report any issues that may affect equipment safety or customer satisfaction. - Occasionally assist with on-site breakdowns or emergency repairs when required. Key Requirements – Skills, Qualifications and Experience - Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Motor Mechanic in a previous role. Experience in a plant hire company is a plus - No formal qualifications are required, but a certification relevant to the role is a plus - Ability to perform all job responsibilities listed above - Proven experience working with plant equipment, commercial vehicles, or agricultural machinery - Strong mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - A proactive and reliable attitude with attention to detail. - Experience in a plant hire or construction environment. - Familiarity with hydraulic systems and heavy-duty components. - Basic welding or fabrication skills.
